In 2010, Fulbright Canada and RBC provided Eco-Leadership awards to 13 current Fulbrighters and alumni of the program. Ruby Lam’s project introduced a daycare to gardening and planting and re-developed an urban space. Ruby and her project partners asked the children who participated: “What do you remember most about gardening?” This is what they said:
“The corn is growing taller than me, but not as tall as a teenager.” – Daisy, 4
“The garden was like a forest!” – Eitan, 7
“The tomatoes are getting bigger and bigger, and healthier and healther!” – Liza, 5
“I got to taste mint.” – Tomasz, 7
